Administrative Professionals Day was originally celebrated as National Secretaries Day and first observed in 1952. It was created by the United States Department of Commerce. Later (in 2000) the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) changed the name of the day to what we know it as today.

According to IAAP there are over 22 million professionals that are in the administration and office support roles. That’s quite a few professionals that are helping keep the office running and they are worth celebrating!
