Best Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Work

This weekend is another Valentine’s Day and on Sunday, the majority of the world will celebrate love! This year, let’s think outside the usual box and expand our celebrations to include more than just romantic love. Let’s recognize the love of our children, parents, snuggly furbabies, friends, and even our coworkers! Whether V-Day brings on feelings of romance or resentment, don’t let your emotions get in the way of potential fun at work! Here at Baudville, we’re sort of nuts about fun at work. We even wrote an e-book about it! That being said, we’ve also written a post or two on tips for celebrating Valentine’s Day on the job. Below are three of our top posts on enjoying yourself on the pink-est day of the year.

1. Sugar coat the office with Falon’s Sweet Ideas for Celebrating Valentine’s Day at Work

2. Tell ‘em you care with free download/print and e-cards from Kayleigh’s Do’s of Celebrating Valentine’s Day in the Workplace

3. Keep it appropriate with Allison’s Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Work with Four HR Approved Ideas

This year, I’ll be taking a page from our best posts and printing Harry Potter cards for every member of our team. FYI our team is pretty small and into dorky humor. #perfectfit

I could be wrong  since one of my coworkers just peeked at my computer screen and said “Ugh, I can’t even.” But you know what, I adumbledore it and it’s happening!! The cards will be silly but I plan on writing a little thank you in each. My team has been so incredibly welcoming and encouraging since my start in January and they deserve to know it! Employee recognition has no season but V-day is a perfect day to show a little love!

I also plan on bringing a scrumptious treat for everyone to enjoy. I found some great recipes that sound fantastic!

Oreo Red Velvet Cupcakes

Red Velvet Puppy Chow

I’ll opt for the puppy chow since it seems a little easier to throw together. I’m also choosing to put it in one big bowl with a side of cups instead of homemade individually crafted baggies because that’s how I roll (shout out to my Martha Stewart’s out there – please invite me to your fabulous dinner parties!!).

If these ideas have failed to get you into the holiday spirit, it’s okay! Just put on a smiling face when your office fills with flowers and ruffles and on Sunday, join me and my date, Netflix.

Whether you don’t have a date, you’re staying in, or your husband works irregular hours (ahem) – Netflix has a huge streaming supply of romantic comedies or zombie flicks – no judgment! Whatever your Sunday holds, here’s hoping that your Valentine’s Day celebration at work is splendiferous!

Audrey is brand spankin’ new to the ‘ville (that’s what they call Baudville around these parts). As the new Marketing Coordinator, she’ll be talking printer-ese, corralling creatives for our catalogs, and writing headlines and blog posts about Baudville’s #1 passion, employee recognition!
