5 Genuine Ways to Thank Your Employees

November 21, 2016 Abby Oberholtzer

While it’s important to come to work every day exuding good vibes and even better ideas, it’s just as vital to bring a spirit of gratitude with you. With your favorite day of turkey, football and parades practically moments away, reflect on how you can show your team how thankful you are for their hard work and chutzpah. Especially with the end of the year drawing near, it’s important to make everyone in your office feel noticed and appreciated.  Check out these 5 simple ways to say Thanks for Being Awesome!

1.) Give them a Break: Has your team been busting out projects and completing corporate initiatives left and right? Reward their dedication by allowing them to take off an hour early!  A surprise this unexpected and valuable will surely boost spirits and make them feel appreciated!

2.)  Bring in Treats: There’s a reason edible goodies make it into so many of our blog posts. It’s because they work! Nothing says, “I appreciate you!” more than an assortment of bagels, donuts, and good coffee.

3.) Send Them an Encouraging Email: While everyone loves to receive a handwritten note, a heartfelt email or ePraise can carry the same sentiment! Never underestimate the power of your encouraging words.

4.) Quality Time: In the coming weeks, set some time aside on your calendar to get out of the office with each of your employees. Treat them to coffee, lunch at the favorite local sandwich shop, or meet them for happy hour. Time is a valuable resource, and when you show someone they’re worth your time, they’ll certainly feel the love!

5.) A Thoughtful Gift: A few weeks ago, I came in to work to find a thoughtful note and brand new journal on my desk. This surprise gift made me feel so appreciated, I felt like I was floating on air for days! Never underestimate the power of a small appreciation gift!
