Our fourth-annual Spring Fitness Challenge started this week, and got off to an exciting start with the addition of a new, online wellness platform! Every year, we look to improve our wellness initiatives, and this year that meant upgrading our program from manual to digital—creating ease of use for both participants and team captains!
After several weeks of evaluation, we chose a company called FitThumb, who has not only created a special platform for us to administer our yearly challenge, but also has year-round initiatives to keep wellness front of mind all the time and in interesting new ways. Honestly, I might be more excited to see what’s in store for us when the challenge is over!
Wondering what this workplace wellness challenge is all about? Well, several years ago, we decided as a company that personal health and well being is an essential element of creating a great place to work. We could do everything else right: recognizing big achievements, celebrating our team on special occasions, expressing appreciation on a day-to-day basis, providing opportunities for community outreach… but it would all fall apart if our employees weren’t feeling good physically. Enter our first Spring Fitness Challenge in 2011. Since then, we’ve added a Hold it for the Holidays competition, regular wellness sessions hosted by experts, and community salad bars. And, this year, the new platform, which I’m sure we’ll be reporting more on as we see what’s next!
